Dr. JOSH RUETHER

My journey towards chiropractic started while studying exercise science in Canada. Having grown up in sports and spending time outdoors, I was always intrigued by how our bodies function, and how we can improve health through movement. Chiropractic care is an important piece in that puzzle, allowing our bodies to move better, heal better, and function better.

My love for the outdoors has led me to several long-distance trails, including the Appalachian Trail, as well as Te Araroa in our own backyard. I learned a very simple lesson from them - our bodies have an extraordinary ability to heal, adapt, and thrive when given the right conditions.

I want to empower those in the community and ensure people of all ages experience the best quality of life. My joy comes from witnessing the positive impacts of chiropractic care and enhancing the health and well-being of those I serve.

In my off time you'll likely find me on a hiking trail, attempting to surf, or learning to grow food in the garden.

Areas of interest

I enjoy seeing people from all walks of life and of all ages, from infants to those in their golden years. Having personally experienced the benefits of chiropractic care while being in sport, working with athletes is also a passion of mine.

Dr. emilie boudreau

Growing up, I was deeply immersed in the world of competitive powerlifting and long-distance running. Witnessing the incredible feats of the human body in these diverse environments sparked a curiosity within me about our physical capabilities. I then trained as a physiotherapy assistant and discovered chiropractic in the multidisciplinary clinic I started to work at. I became fascinated by the concept of using chiropractic adjustments not only as a preventative measure but also as ongoing wellness care.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I am deeply passionate about staying active and exploring the outdoors. Whether I’m running, gravel biking, surfing, hitting the gym, or capturing moments through photography, I find joy in pushing my physical boundaries and immersing myself in the beauty of nature.

Areas of interest

I enjoy interacting with individuals of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Each encounter reminds me of the importance of holistic care and the impact it can have on individuals at every stage of life.

WHat is CHIROPRACTIC?

“90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by the movement of the spine”
Roger Sperry, 1981 Nobel Prize winner for brain research

In human beings, nerve messages are transmitted from the body to the brain and from the brain to the body over the nervous system. The nervous system includes the spinal cord that passes from the skull down through the spinal column, and the spinal nerves that pass from the spinal cord to the rest of the body between the individual spinal vertebrae. Every function from movement, digestion, breathing, quality of sleep, the function of your immune system, how you deal and respond to stress and heal (to name just few…) is controlled and coordinated by the nerve system..

Stresses through life come in different forms: physical (bad posture, lack of movement, injuries, birth trauma, etc), emotional (chronic stress, etc) or chemical (toxins, poor diet, etc). Those can affect the function of the spine and lead to some misalignments (that chiropractors call “vertebral subluxation”). Research has shown that this affect the way the central nervous system is processing information. As chiropractors, we locate and facilitate the correction of those misalignments (i.e. vertebral subluxations) using specific and gentle adjustments.

Chiropractic is not designed to make you instantly feel better but to make you instantly heal better.
